Garlic and Thyme Smoked Mushrooms

These Smoked Mushrooms are cooked to perfection with garlic and thyme for the perfect side dish or topping to many of your favorite smoked meats. These earthy white mushrooms are infused with a nice smoky finish and are very simple to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz White mushrooms (3 (8 oz.) packages)
  • ½ white onion sliced (about 1 cup)
  • 3 cloves of garlic diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tbsp fresh thyme
  • 6 tbsp butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees F.
  • In a large cast iron skillet or pan of choice, combine all of the ingredients.
  • Stir or mix with your hands until all of the ingredients are well distributed.
  • Transfer the pan out to the preheated smoker and place it onto the grates.
  • Close the lid and let smoke at 225 Degrees F for about 30 minutes.
  • Give them a stir and continue to smoke for about 20-30 minutes longer.
  • Once cooked to your desired texture/color pull them off and serve warm.

Notes

The time may vary depending on your ability to keep the temperature and the amount/size of your mushrooms. If you want to smoke at a lower temperature- go for it!
